The National Cyber Practice Initiative is led by Professor Richard Buckland and supported by Adam Smallhorn, Zoe Latham and Caitlin O’Brien.
Professor Richard Buckland
Richard is a Professor in CyberCrime Cyberwar and Cyberterror at the School of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of New South Wales, Visiting Professor in Educational Design at the National University of Malaysia UKM, and Grand Challenge Visiting Professor in CyberSecurity at Taylors University.
He is the Director of the UNSW/CommBank Security Engineering Capability partnership -SecEDU, and long term member of the UNSW Academic Board and the University Academic Quality Committee. His research areas lie in Education and Teaching, and in Cyber Security and Security Engineering.
Adam Smallhorn
Adam is a security engineer who is passionate about technology, education, leadership and people. He works in cyber security trying to design better ways to engage everyday folk to understand and take command of their online safety.
Adam works closely with the University of New South Wales supporting the skills initiative to develop the next generation cyber security professionals. For the past 12 months, he’s acted as a security engineering tutor at UNSW, and as course administrator of UNSW's Security Engineering online MOOC.
